Dear Valued Sustainability Advocate,
We’d like to thank you for your interest in supporting the initiatives of CUS Sustainability – a group of passionate students working to address some of the most prevalent issues of our generation. As business students, we realize the environmental and social impacts of commercial industry, and are aware of business’ key role in this degradation. However, we believe that the corporate world is on the brink of a true paradigm shift; one which includes business as the tool to bring us out of this global ecological crisis. We see that the relationship between industry and environmental and social equity can be a cooperative and ultimately, beneficial one.
Our committee is a subsidiary of the Commerce Undergraduate Society and is in its fifth year of operation. This year, we will continue to implement our mission for providing business students with the realities of the business world, of which sustainability is undoubtedly a prevalent one. We want to ensure that each student will emerge with the knowledge and understanding they need to make socially responsible and sustainable management decisions. Through our events, conference, and curricular initiatives, we strive to provide an interactive and thought-provoking environment for students to learn about these important issues.
As our generation enters the changing business world, it is imperative that we have an understanding of global equity, the impacts of globalization, and a genuine appreciation for the environment and the natural world. By supporting our committee, you will be helping to permeate the values of sustainability into the Sauder School, and thereby contribute to the enrichment of future business leaders.
